It’s schöne Müllerin week. Two concerts and a rehearsal of the song cycle we recorded on CD in 2003.
When Maarten proposed to do die schöne Müllerin both Olga and I didn’t feel much for it’s brooklets and windmills but as soon as he explained us the story and showed us the musical translation of it in the accompaniment, we loved it.
One of the extra’s of our version is Maarten’s introduction. I’m always afraid that the laughing crowd will never turn quiet again but at the end of the concert you usually can hear a pin drop while most of the audience has tears in their eyes.
We performed it about 40 times right after the CD was released. About every year we resume it a couple of times. Since we are planning to make a new program with the three of us, we gave ourselves a name as well as a website.
